Never Delay Furnace Repair Just Because It’s Spring

wrenchesThe start of spring is always a weird time for the weather here in Salt Lake City. The temperatures often hover around the fifties with plenty of rain, but it can also turn toward warm days or slide down to where it snows again.

However, the trend will now be toward warmer weather, and this can sometimes lead to people ignoring trouble with their furnaces. “Well, it’s still working okay, and pretty soon I won’t need it at all. Maybe I can just wait until fall to worry about it.”

Please don’t do this! Any time you detect problems with your home’s furnace, arrange for repairs as soon as its convenient—and that includes making an emergency call if necessary. There are a few reasons for this.

How Long Will My Heating System Last?

question-markWhen winter comes to an end (and we’re finally getting close … hang in there, everyone), we recommend you evaluate your home heating system and think about whether it’s time to make an upgrade. Spring is a great time to have new HVAC installations done, and that includes furnace replacement or replacing any other type of heater.

The big question people ask when analyzing their heating systems for possible replacement is “How long is my heater supposed to last?” Nobody wants to replace a heater before it’s time, since that would be a big waste of money. We agree that if your heater can be repaired so it gives you a few more years of quality and energy-efficient comfort, then you should have it repaired. But … age is a critical factor to consider. Let’s look into that heating system life-expectancy question.
